Economic Development (ED) is a continuous developmental process, based on local initiative and driven by local stakeholders. It involves identifying and using local resources, ideas, and skills to stimulate economic growth and development.

The aim of Economic Development is to create employment opportunities for residents, alleviate poverty and redistribute resources and opportunities to the benefit of all host communities. The main objectives of ACWA Power Solarreserve Redstone Solar Thermal Power Plant are to have strategies and a clear list of initiatives that comply with the Implementation Agreement signed between the Department of Energy and ACWA Power Redstone during construction and operational phase

The project is committed to uplifting lives of impoverished communities by addressing their priority needs through our pillars, which are: Education, Health and Community wellness, Infrastructure and Enterprise development. The project uses the project pillars as a criterion to support SED projects and programmes, and further categorise all initiatives by short, medium, or long-term depending on the financial availability.

School Shoes Drive

School Shoes

The purpose of the school-shoes drive was to instil dignity and comfort to the disadvantage leaners of selected schools for both Kgatelopele and Tsantsabane municipal areas who are Redstone host. Our commitment is to support our host communities, and the shoe drive was just one of our supports out of many other. This initiative was crucial for keeping school children at school and provide both physical comfort and sense of pride.

Redstone donated 2000 pairs of shoes amongst 13 schools in both municipal areas (Kgatelopele & Tsantsabane).

We remain dedicated to supporting education and fostering a conducive environment for the leader of tomorrow.
